Superdad.com.au is all about the joys, challenges and lessons of being a bloke in the role of primary caregiver.

From January to December 2009 I had the pleasure of being at home with my eldest son, Austin, for months nine to 19 of his young life. It was a blast, but it wasn't all easy.

This site captures it all. From self-feeding to potting training; the politics of playgroup and the suspicious looks from all those mums on the high street. There's recipes, activities and road trips. There's SAHD news from around the world. There's things not to do on online auctions - no matter how long your child's afternoon sleep.

It may inform, inspire or amuse. Heck, it might just do all three.

Postscript

In addition to writing two posts (yes, tomorrow’s is in the bag), I feel it's worth pointing out that during Austin's morning sleep I have also:
* cleaned up his breakfast mess
* mopped all the floors
* had a shower
* emptied the dishwasher
* wrapped the present I need to post to Austin's friend in the UK
* made the bed, which I have learned is very important

I have not:
* bid for anything on ebay
* continued with the breaking in of my cricket bat
* watched any X-Files episodes, even though the next one is really good
* taken the time to check when the Champions League draw is taking place, even though I know I’ll be tuning in

  1. Phil, get yourself a URL, host it, then move your blog to Wordpress. It's a better platform - IMHO.

    Now five people know where your blog is, and four of us have voted on Austin's birthday cake. And I'm the first to have made a comment.

    This is a great idea though. I did a search for "Musings of a stay at home dad" and found many matching results including this one: Musings Of A Mentally Ill Ex-Air Force Stay At Home Dad.

    So, you are not alone.
